We are all killing time. This is not a bad thing. It’s a statement that resonates with me deeply. After going through experiences I once thought I couldn’t let go of, I’ve come to a new understanding and adopted a different attitude towards life. “Killing Time” is the most significant track on my seventh personal creative album, released this year. Though it was penned two years ago, it’s the song I feel most compelled to share with you at this moment. Its importance is why it leads the tracklist. Hence, I’ve chosen to call this year’s tour “Killing Time.”
Do you view “killing time” as a derogatory term? I don’t. We are all engaged in it. It’s not a negative concept. Every experience is valid. Life has a high tolerance rate; we can thrive without conforming to others’ standards. Life is like a blank sheet of paper—you can draw, write, or even tear it up. And there are always more blank sheets available. Whether the drawing is good or bad, there’s no need to fear. What matters is that you enjoy it and are willing to engage in it. Isn’t that what life is all about—constantly seeking and experiencing what you love? I am Xie Chunhua, and I invite you to join me on this tour, to kill time with me.
As for the tour’s content, with the vast number of songs I’ve written, a 90-minute performance isn’t enough to cover all seven albums. So, besides featuring some tracks from the new album, I will endeavor to include as many of the world-famous songs that you’ve been eager to hear.

Because the songs of the new album are basically only fully performed in the tour of the year of release. Each live performance is very rare.
This album contains my first self-composed and produced track ‘Shell’, the second song ‘You Should Miss You Most on a Sleepless Night’, the third song ‘My Child’, and ‘Killing Time’ which is my first simultaneous recording of guitar singing in the recording studio. These four songs are my first ‘complete works’. From lyrics and music to arrangement to production, I have decided everything by myself. I am very proud of this and I am even more grateful for creation. It makes me stronger and also makes me know that I should seek inward.
Besides production, this album also has some new attitudes. Written in 2024. One is ‘My Child’ about raising oneself, and the other is ‘I Want to Sleep’ which is an expression of madness to stay away from the source of pain. Creation is an interesting thing. Recording and sharing, being able to meet bosom friends is enough.
Meeting bosom friends is the motivation for me to continuously share. This has never changed from the beginning to the end. Looking forward to seeing you at the scene. Thank you for listening.
—Hello, I’m Xie Chunhua. This year, I cordially invite you to join me in making the most of our time together at the tour scene. I’ve never disclosed the tour setlist beforehand, as I prefer to preserve the element of surprise and avoid performing the same songs at every venue. It’s not only monotonous but also denies the opportunity for other songs to be showcased alongside the classics.
Despite the curiosity, I’ll share a preliminary setlist for our tour this year (note that it’s not exhaustive; unlisted songs might still be performed). The attached picture gives you a glimpse of the songs that will be featured, but the final setlist remains a mystery, even to me. This time, some songs are up for grabs, allowing you to choose one out of two on the spot. I’m excited about this interactive aspect of the tour.
Some songs may not be performed in one city but could show up at the next stop. Who knows? Ultimately, I aim to sing them all.
