From songwriting and singing to arranging and production, Qian Runyu has gradually become a versatile artist. She officially released her first bilingual Chinese-English album, ‘FUSS!ON,’ at the end of 2023, carefully participating in every detail of the production process. The upcoming tour in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and other cities will mainly revolve around the ‘FUSS!ON’ album.
The album title ‘FUSS!ON’ is a fusion of the words FUSS and FUSION, representing the diversity of musical styles. FUSS is defined by Qian Runyu’s penchant for slightly breaking the rules within established norms, encapsulating her mischievous personality. The extra exclamation mark in the album title signifies her hope to connect with the audience through her self (i) and music, followed by an exclamation mark of surprise.
At the ‘FUSS!ON’ tour, audiences will experience a mix of North American pop framework, European electronic elements, and unique Chinese traditional instruments such as the pipa and ruan. They will also hear the fusion of Eastern timbres with Western basslines and electronic synthesizers, creating a sonic explosion that impacts the audience’s hearing.
Without deliberately emphasizing her musical skills, Qian Runyu’s distinctive musical color, shaped by growing up in the millennial generation, can be naturally heard in the progression of the music.Qian Runyu’s new single ‘Victim’ and several of her past hit singles will be performed as surprises during the tour in addition to the album content. The event starts at 20:00 on Saturday, November 9th, and lasts approximately 90 minutes (subject to change on the spot).
