The Notre-Dame Cathedral is scheduled for completion by the end of 2024 and will then reopen to the public. In honor of the 60th anniversary of Sino-French diplomatic relations and the cathedral’s significant rebirth, a unique exhibition is being organized. The National Museum of China, in partnership with the Notre-Dame Cathedral Restoration Authority, L’Oréal Group, and the French company Histovery, will present “Rebirth from the Ashes – Notre-Dame Cathedral Augmented Reality Immersive Exhibition.”
This exhibition stands out from those held in other countries as it features four rare original sculptures from the cathedral, including the iconic gargoyles and chimeras. These have been specially lent by the Notre-Dame Cathedral Restoration Authority. Through digital technology, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the cathedral’s history and current state, while also marveling at the magical allure of these sculptures that have loomed over Paris for centuries, witnessing the city’s transformation.
The “Rebirth from the Ashes” exhibition will run from September 12th to December 31st. The specific operating hours will be determined based on the conditions on the day.
