Two outstanding Czech music performers, oboist Vilém Veverka and harpist Kateřina Englichová, are collaborating with the Hong Kong City Chamber Orchestra and guest conductor Cai Minde to create a concert commemorating the ‘Czech Music Year’. Smetana once said, “The life of Czech people is in music,” and this concert is a testament to that sentiment.

Martinů’s ‘Oboe Concerto’, a delightful solo masterpiece with bold rhythm changes, is not to be missed. Suk’s ‘Serenade for Strings’ is serene and full of Czech folk music elements. Lukas’s ‘Music for Harp and Strings’ features vivid rhythms. Additionally, Smetana’s famous work ‘The Moldau’ has been carefully adapted for a harp solo.

This experienced Czech duo will also perform an oboe adaptation of Mozart’s ‘Flute and Harp Concerto’ as the grand finale of this rare oboe and harp concert. The opening time for this event is 10/24. Please note that the performance time and duration are subject to the site.
