Lai Sui-Yan’s ‘V Union Gratitude Concert 2024’ is finally set to restart after a five-year wait, bringing an unparalleled new musical experience to her audience. After a five-year hiatus, Lai Sui-Yan returns to her personal stage for the ‘V Union Gratitude Concert 2024’, a two-night event held on October 19th and 20th at the Grand Theatre of the Xiq Centre in the West Kowloon Cultural District, fulfilling everyone’s dreams! As long as there is a dream, there is always a chance to realize it at the right time. Even if this concert has been prepared from 2019 until now, what was thought to be an endless wait, in fact, there was a plan all along. In 2019, Lai Sui-Yan was actively preparing for the concert, starting with poster design, planning the concert playlist, etc., but unexpectedly encountered the pandemic, which put the concert plan on hold. Lai Sui-Yan, like her fans, waited for five years, and this time she must seize the opportunity to reunite with everyone at the V Union (Re Union), and fans can enjoy her musical works to their heart’s content. The concert poster was deliberately photographed at the concert venue, the Xiq Centre, which is very meaningful and precious to Lai Sui-Yan. ‘The preparation for this concert has been full of challenges and excitement! From knowing that we were going to hold the concert to the day of the performance, we only had three months, but I hope to achieve infinite possibilities within a limited time and to achieve the best match, bringing an unparalleled musical experience to everyone. With songs like ‘On the Sunny Road’, hoping for ‘The Rainy Season to Never Return’, and realizing ‘Everyone Has a Dream’… A familiar and gentle voice that has accompanied everyone for over thirty years, still lingering in the minds of the public.
Every member of the production team was specially selected by me, with the aim of inspiring new sparks and making the performance full of vitality and creativity. It is worth mentioning that I invited the famous designer, Mr. Chen Hua Guo, to design a series of stage costumes for me. This makes the performance more visually impactful and adds infinite color.
In terms of music, I also specially invited the music master, Mr. Du Zi Chi, to serve as the music director. This ensures that the performance can present the best musical effect. Every rehearsal is full of energy, joy, and anticipation, making me confident and excited about this performance. I hope everyone can look forward to this wonderful performance together and enjoy the joy of this music.
Speaking of the concert playlist, ‘In this concert, I hope to say hello to my friends who have been with me for many years and have chosen some well-known classic songs.’ I have carefully selected a number of songs, some of which evoke the feelings of my girlhood, while others are filled with humor and life philosophy.
The theme of this concert is ‘gratitude.’ The journey has been accompanied by everyone, making me feel extremely warm and supported. I spent a lot of time and effort with the producer to write this rundown, including gratitude for appreciation, gratitude for inheritance, and gratitude for the companionship along the way, sharing every moment of life. This sentiment is the deepest motivation behind my performance.
