Adapted from the award-winning British stage play ‘Prima Facie’, the play tells the story of a successful female criminal defense lawyer who specializes in defending perpetrators involved in sexual assault cases. An unexpected blow changes her identity and role, turning her from a defense attorney into a victim. Standing on the witness stand, she is continuously interrogated, questioned, and accused… Suddenly, she finds that her previously held values and beliefs are instantly overturned, prompting her to question the purpose of the existence of law and institutions.
