Adapted from Leo Tolstoy’s masterpiece, the musical ‘Anna Karenina’ is a spectacular, thrilling, and emotionally rich work that incorporates various high-tech elements. Set in Russia at the end of the 19th century, the story revolves around the dashing noble Count Alexei Vronsky, who meets the young and charming wife of an influential government official, Anna Karenina. After a brief encounter, they fall deeply in love, an experience of true love that neither has ever felt before. So powerful is this love that the desperate Anna chooses to break the conventions of high society, leaving her husband and son in St. Petersburg to flee with Vronsky from the glamour and luxury of Russian aristocratic society.
However, their love fairy tale is short-lived, and fate soon tests the strength of their feelings. This musical captures the subtle psychological and emotional depth found in Leo Tolstoy’s great novel. The characters struggle with overwhelming and controversial emotions – love and betrayal, passion and responsibility, hope and despair.
