【Wenzhou】Exhibition of ‘Eleven Beds’

The Hong Art Museum in Wenzhou will launch a group exhibition titled ‘Eleven Beds’ on June 2, 2024. This exhibition is curated by Peng Xueying and produced by Pan Hongzheng. Taking ‘bed’ as a starting point, it hopes to lead to practices and imaginations on how to build new social relationships and lifestyles: How can we open up a public space providing differentiated imaginations from private life forms? And how can we use more flexible minds and bodies and shareable methods to deal with and counteract the distress of the environment, promote more diverse and closer connections, while maintaining individual privacy, dignity, and independence? These are the questions raised by the exhibition ‘Eleven Beds’. The exhibition is divided into two units: In the first unit, twelve (groups) of artists will respond to the exhibition theme and the spatial relationship of their works. In the second unit, about seven (groups) of creators/art groups from various places are invited. During the exhibition period, they will come to Wenzhou and the Hong Art Museum one after another to conduct city walks, workshops, performances and other activities, so as to further loosen the homogeneity of specific spaces and people and create an environment that continuously expands experiences and promotes connections. People from all over the world, with various skills, different identities and purposes, gather together, make efforts individually or together. Finally, when it’s time, they leave. Roll up the bedding, the ‘bed’ disappears, but the space and experience remain in our bodies. The full text is open from July 7 to December 2. It takes about 60 minutes (subject to the site).
