Just a few kilometers away from the urban area of Sanya, this platform is situated on a hilltop that faces the runway of Sanya Phoenix International Airport. On August 23, 1990, the 11th Asian Games torch lighting ceremony was grandly held here at the southern end. The platform has a construction area of 1500 square meters and stands 14.3 meters tall. From the southern torch lighting platform, the urban area of Sanya is clearly visible, and the scenic area of Tianya Haijiao, not far from the sea, can be seen in its entirety. Looking into the distance, the sea and sky blend into one, the vastness of the South China Sea stretches boundlessly, with fishing boats dotted across the horizon, opening up one’s heart and mind.
