The 2024 (The Fourth) Hainan Splendid World Cultural Week will officially kick off on November 8. Through holding fashion shows, special costume exhibitions, inheritor photo exhibitions, seminars, and on-site performances in Haikou City and Wuzhishan City, it will comprehensively display the charm of intangible cultural heritage in the splendid world. Beijing embroidery, Suzhou embroidery, Li brocade… The patterns are vivid and captivating. For thousands of years, brocade and embroidery have carried the living memories and humanistic spirit of people of all ethnic groups and become a beautiful business card in excellent traditional Chinese culture. Among various carriers of splendor, the theatrical stage further magnifies the brilliance of splendor. One of the highlights of this cultural week is the combination of splendid art and various traditional operas, making the splendid costumes and the beauty of the opera garden complement each other.

Display the exquisite craftsmanship and cultural connotations of costume production. 3. ‘Splendid World · Inheritance Light’ – Photo Exhibition of Representative Inheritors of National Intangible Cultural Heritage Weaving, Dyeing, Embroidery Techniques Projects Time: November 8 – December 31, 2024 Location: Temporary exhibition hall and first-floor foyer of the Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Center (Haikou City) Content: Display portraits of inheritors of brocade, embroidery, dyeing and printing, and clothing projects in national intangible cultural heritage representative projects, convey warm traditional Chinese culture to the audience, and show the unique charm and elegance of intangible cultural heritage inheritors. 4. ‘Splendid World · Clothing the World’ – Academic Seminar and Research on the Inheritance and Protection of Traditional Spinning, Dyeing, Weaving and Embroidery Techniques Time: 2:30 – 6:00 pm on November 9, 2024 (Saturday) Location: Yatai Rainforest Hotel in Wuzhishan Content: Hold the academic seminar on ‘Splendid World · Clothing the World’ – the inheritance and protection of traditional spinning, dyeing, weaving and embroidery techniques.
