9th Art Xiamen Expo 2024 - October Flower Sea, Hua Yu Jiu Huo

The 9th Art Xiamen International Expo will be held from October 17th to 20th, 2024, at Hall A1 of the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center. With the theme ‘October Flower Sea, Hua Yu Jiu Huo,’ the fair innovatively introduces the Minnan dialect phonetic translation ‘Hua Yu Jiu Huo’ for ‘Huanxi Jiuhao,’ adhering to the life philosophy of ‘Huanxi Jiuhao,’ and unfolds the contemporary art canvas amidst the October Flower Sea.

The theme not only continues the positive spirit of the past but also pays a high tribute to the optimistic, upward-looking, and broad-minded characteristics in Minnan culture. The 2024 Art Xiamen International Expo, with the ‘door’ surrounded by flowers, initiates the journey of October Art Xiamen. Xiamen’s ‘door’ is the door to art, sincerely inviting guests from all over the world to personally open it, feel the healing power of art, dialogue with the diverse existence of art, and carry forward the vigorous development of art.

This year’s expo, themed ‘Huanxi Jiuhao,’ features exhibiting galleries and art institutions from nearly 10 countries and regions, including Europe, Asia, America, and the Middle East, such as the Contemporary Tang Art Center, Gao Shi Gallery, Qingfeng Art Gallery, Crossing Art, K Space, D Space, 3812 Gallery, and Renke Art Center. It gathers classic works from both domestic and international artists like Haiwen Zeng, Duoling He, Chunya Zhou, Julian Opie, Xiuqin Li, Araki Nobuyoshi, Zhao Zhao, Matthew F.

Fisher, Jaes Lee, and Daxin Wu, initiating a dialogue between local culture and world art.
The fair is divided into two main zones: International Galleries and Public Art, showcasing a variety of art pieces including paintings, sculptures, images, installations, and more. There is also a chance to witness the first public appearance of art works, bringing you a unique and heavyweight art feast.

Rich thematic forums offer opportunities for face-to-face exchanges with art masters. On-site interactive activities and打卡 spots are abundant, providing a full experience of joy, broadening your horizons, and offering a ‘zero-pressure’ party.

Opening times are 14:00-19:00 on October 17th; 10:00-19:00 on October 18th-19th; and 10:00-18:00 on October 20th. Closed all day from January 1st to October 16th; closed all day from October 21st to December 31st.

October 17th is for VIP collectors’ preview; October 18th-20th are open to the public.
