The Bai Gong Memorial Temple is a cultural relic protection unit in Chongqing, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, and a centralized protection site for cultural relics in the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. There are five cultural relic buildings inside. Among them, the Dingfang Que and the Nameless Que are national key cultural relic protection units. Bai Gong refers to Bai Juyi, a great poet in the Tang Dynasty. From 818 to 820 AD, he served as the governor of Zhongzhou. He loved the people, was diligent in governance, and benefited the people. In the third year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty (1630), the prefect Ma Yicong built the Bai Gong Memorial Temple, and it has been renovated in successive dynasties. The total area of the scenic area is 110 mu. There are currently scenic spots such as Bai Garden, Letian Hall, Four Sages Pavilion, Longchang Temple Lotus Pond, Mulan Garden, and Letian Poetry Corridor. The architecture imitates the Ming and Qing styles. It is located by the mountains and rivers, quiet and elegant. It is an important cultural tourism destination for worshipping predecessors, inspiring later generations, appreciating calligraphy and paintings, and chanting poems.
