The Wang Clan Ancestral Hall is located in Liugang Village, Jinzao Town, Chaoyang District, Shantou City. Established in the third year of the Jianyan era during the Song Dynasty, this ancestral hall has a history of nearly a thousand years. Through successive generations of maintenance and renovation, the architecture of this hall retains the characteristics of the Southern Song Dynasty and also preserves features of the beam structures and wood carvings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
In order to better protect this rare immovable cultural relic, the Wang Clan Ancestral Hall, and to leverage its role in the inheritance and research of historical and cultural heritage, it has been specially applied to be declared a cultural relic protection unit in Shantou City. In 2001, the Wang Clan Ancestral Hall was listed as a cultural relic protection unit by the then Chaoyang City.
