Shilin Lake is named for its group of stone pillars and stalagmites that rise from the sea, resembling a forest on the ocean.
They are grotesque in shape, with some resembling a group of animals looking around, others like naughty children performing acrobatics, and some like a wife waiting for her husband to return.
