The Zhanjiang City Library was established in 1960. Its predecessor was the Zhanjiang District Library. After 1983, it was renamed as the Zhanjiang City Library. In 1996, a new library was built, located on the north side of Renmin Avenue in Zhanjiang City, covering an area of 25.1 mu and with a construction area of 21,000 square meters. The main building of the library has nine floors, and the surrounding buildings have five floors. There are 16 various reading rooms, 1200 reader seats, and it can hold 1.2 million books.
Opening hours: Open from Tuesday to Friday throughout the year from 08:30 to 21:30; Open on Saturday and Sunday throughout the year from 08:00 to 21:30; Closed all day on Monday throughout the year.
