The Danzhou Millennium Ancient Salt Pan has a history of more than 1,200 years. It is one of the early sun-dried salt production sites in China and is still well-preserved. The Yantian Village where the scenic spot is located is a peaceful and leisurely seaside village. After entering the village, you can see at a glance stone troughs of different sizes scattered by the sea. They are distributed around the salt fields like inkstones in an orderly manner, which is quite spectacular.
Not far from the salt fields is the famous Yangpu Port, where cargo ships from various countries are docked. Today, Yantian Village still retains this ancient salt-making process. First, the beach sediment dried by the sun is poured with seawater for filtration to make brine with high salt content. Then the brine is poured into the stone trough and exposed to the sun to make salt. If you want to see the process of salt workers working, the chance is greater in the evening.Opening hours: Open all day all year round.
Must-see tips: 1. Due to the hot weather and the salt-making process, if you want to see the process of salt pan workers working, it is generally necessary in the evening. 2. Do not step on the salt trough (that is, the stone trough with raised edges and inwardly concave center. This is a very important tool for salt making).
