Zhucheng Chinese Tyrannosaurus Museum

The Zhucheng Chinese Tyrannosaurus Museum is located in the north of Zangjiazhuang Village, Longdu Street, Zhucheng. It is named after the discovery and production of relatively complete tyrannosaurus dinosaur (giant Zhucheng tyrannosaurus) fossils. It is famous for collecting the fossil skeleton of the large feathered tyrannosaurus (orgeous Yutyrannus). It is currently an ultra-large tyrannosaurus-themed museum in China and is also known as the ‘nest of tyrannosaurus’. It covers an area of 3,200 square meters and is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. The exterior is in the shape of a dinosaur eggshell. It has four functional areas: the original fossil display area, the dinosaur skeleton display area, the dynamic film viewing area, and the time-space tunnel display area. As a national 4A-level tourist attraction, it is an important scenic spot on the ‘Dinosaur Tour’ in Zhucheng. There are ‘two wonders and four dragon kings’ in the museum. The ‘two wonders’ are: the seven-layer dinosaur fossil stacking area displayed on the original site; the complete site where tyrannosaurus is buried together with ceratopsians, ankylosaurs, and hadrosaurs. The ‘four dragon kings’ are the ‘giant Zhucheng tyrannosaurus’, ‘huge Huaxia dragon’, ‘Zhucheng Chinese ceratopsian’, and ‘Zhucheng Chinese ankylosaurus’ produced and named here. In the dynamic film viewing area, the specially-made dynamic film restores the tragic scene of the ‘giant Zhucheng tyrannosaurus’ fighting with herbivorous dinosaurs such as hadrosaurs and ceratopsians in the Cretaceous period, and explains the formation reasons of the geological wonders in the museum. In the time-space tunnel display area, taking time as the axis, it shows the whole process of the ‘giant Zhucheng tyrannosaurus’ from birth, growth to extinction. Since its opening, millions of tourists have come here for visits, making it a national scientific research, popular science, study and tourism resort with tyrannosaurus as the theme.
