Jewelry hand-drawn sketches or design drawings always have a special charm. Sometimes, they are sketched on paper with just a few strokes. But more often, they are like real artworks, with delicate colors and rich details. While touching people’s hearts with beauty, they also tell the birth process of a piece of jewelry. Jewelry design drawings are rarely studied or published, and public exhibitions are even more rare. For a long time, these precious materials are often unknown to the public. However, such drawings play a crucial role in jewelry creation and provide an important reference for every craftsman involved in the production. Since the European Renaissance, hand-drawn design drawings have always been the starting point and even the foundation for turning inspiration into real works and making ideas a reality. The works selected for the exhibition roughly cover France in the 19th century, from the 1760s to the end of the international decorative art style in the 1930s. These jewelry design drawings created by many famous or anonymous artists and designers present a variety of painting techniques and forms.
