Wu Mountain is located to the north of Shi Lao Ren Village. It is named ‘Zi Wu Mountain’ due to its north-south alignment, resembling the meridian line, and later abbreviated to ‘Wu Mountain’.

The main peak of Wu Mountain stands at an elevation of 398.3 meters, covering an area of approximately 8 square kilometers, and serves as a natural boundary between Zhongshan Town and Shazigou Town in the Laoshan District.

A temple known as Wu Mountain Temple, or Dashi An, was once constructed on the mountain. It was built in the early Qing Dynasty and gradually fell into disrepair after liberation, eventually being demolished in 1958.

From the summit of Wu Mountain, one can look west to see Fushan, east to see Jufeng, and north to see Shimenshan, all of which are clearly visible.

The name of Wu Mountain is recorded in the Tongzhi edition of ‘Jimo County Annals’.
