Youjie Local invites artists to conduct on-site investigations, bestowing new imagination upon this second-grade historical architectural space. This time, we have invited young artist Lin Jiayu to present her first solo exhibition at the Youjie Warehouse with contemporary bamboo art sculptures and interactive installations.

Viewing the century-old Youjie Warehouse as a human body is the core of Lin Jiayu’s exhibition creation this time. She draws inspiration from the architectural features of the Youjie Warehouse that both ‘separate’ and ‘connect’ to create bamboo art works corresponding to the heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys. Utilizing ‘initiate, dissolve, absorb, transform, remove’ as five steps, she guides the audience to explore the connections between architectural spaces, human body structures, and life trajectories.

In addition, she has used the purple bamboo grown in Youjie to embody the concept of ‘Youjie Local,’ building a bridge between the past and the present, tradition and innovation with bamboo art. The exhibition is open from 11/07 to 02/09, with specific business hours subject to the day’s opening status.
