The Qingdao Guoxin Stadium, formerly known as Qingdao Yizhong Stadium, is located in Qingdao Sports Center. It is situated at the northern foothill of Fushan Mountain. To the northwest, it is close to the residential area behind Fushan Mountain. To the east, it connects to Haier Road. It is a large-scale comprehensive sports venue newly built in Qingdao and was completed in 1998. The Guoxin Stadium was once the main stadium for the Qingdao Yizhong Hainiu Football Team, one of the teams in China’s Football League A.
In 2002, the finals of the Chinese Football Association Cup League were held here. And it witnessed the Qingdao Yizhong Hainiu Team winning the Football Association Cup. Many artistic performances, star concerts, and the opening ceremonies of festivals such as the Qingdao International Beer Festival and Qingdao Ocean Festival have also been held here. Now it is the main stadium for the matches of Qingdao Huanghai Football Club in the Chinese Football Association League One. The Guoxin Stadium covers an area of 180,000 square meters and can accommodate 60,000 spectators. There is a giant canopy with a membrane tension structure built above the stadium, covering all spectator seats in the venue. This structure is currently a new structural system in the international arena and is the perfect combination of new building membrane materials and calculation technology. There is a football training field inside the stadium, and the venue and surrounding areas are covered with lawns. The lawn grass seeds are imported from the United States.
