The Xinchangchun Garden (Winter Garden) of the New Yuanmingyuan in Hengdian is modeled after the imperial garden loved by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty and the first large-scale royal garden built in the western suburbs of Beijing in the Qing Dynasty – Changchun Garden. Ten scenic spots such as the Nine Classics and Three Affairs Hall, the Shouxuan Chunyong Hall, the Danning Residence, and the Chunhui Hall have been rebuilt.
In the garden, the green pines are tall and straight, the flower paths are deep, and the palaces, terraces, towers and pavilions are scattered in an orderly manner. Touring in this simple and unsophisticated garden where Emperor Kangxi handled daily affairs, took leisure and rest, slept and lived, and read and relaxed, one can fully feel the demeanor of this eternal emperor.
