Wufeng Scenic Area

The Wufeng Scenic Area is named after the five peculiar peaks: Jiming Peak, Peach Blossom Peak, Fuhu Peak, Waterfall Peak, and Guhou Peak, which encircle and拱卫 the area.

The scenic area is serene and comfortable, with fresh air, and has always been a gathering place for literati and scholars. Southern Song Dynasty scholars such as Chen Liang, Zhu Xi, and Lv Donglai once wrote and lectured at the Wufeng Academy.

The area includes Wufeng Academy, Lize Temple, Xue Yi Studio, and Chonglou, which are the birthplace of the Yongkang School during the Southern Song Dynasty and the place where Wang Yangming preached during the Ming Dynasty.

Wufeng Academy is one of the earlier academies in Eastern Zhejiang, located in a natural large stone cave at the foot of Guhou Peak, a typical rock cave architecture. To the east of the academy is the Tianmi Waterfall, and to the west is the spectacular Longqiu Waterfall. In front of the academy, under the Tian Sheng Pavilion, is a winding mountain stream, with Chonglou to the east and Lize Temple and Xue Yi Studio to the west.

The scenic area is open all year round, 24/7, subject to the actual situation on the day.
