Longquan, a renowned historical and cultural city, is celebrated for its unique porcelain, swords, and mushroom culture. It has a long history, a gathering of humanities, and an abundance of cultural relics. Longquan Museum serves as an educational base for the people of Longquan to promote the city’s history and culture, and it is also a tourist attraction for outsiders to understand Longquan. The museum is located to the east of the beautiful Longyuan Park, adjacent to the Longquan Hotel to the south, and to the northwest of the Children’s Park and sports square, with direct car access to the museum entrance.
Surrounded by green pines and cypresses, the museum boasts beautiful scenery. From the stone steps in front of the museum, one can overlook the town of Longyuan, capturing the charm of the entire mountain city. The museum houses a rich collection of cultural relics, including Neolithic stone axes, spears, and pottery pots, bronze swords from the Warring States period, and over 3000 pieces of Tang Dynasty celadon artifacts. It also features photos of the Northern Song Dynasty Longquan celadon five-spouted bottle, and a copper Buddha printed in 1998 by the National Post Office. Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday, 08:30 to 16:30, and the museum is closed all day on Mondays.
