The Shitai Guniujiang Scenic Area in Anhui is a national AAAA-level tourist scenic area. It is located in the Guniujiang National Nature Reserve on the magical 30th parallel north latitude and within Shitai County, Chizhou City, one of China’s three major selenium-rich areas. As Guniujiang is the main body of the westward extension of the Huangshan Mountains, and the main peak of Guniujiang at an altitude of 1727 meters is the third-highest peak in southern Anhui. Therefore, it has high mountains, dense forests, few people, and excellent climate. It is called a ‘green natural museum’ and a ‘wildlife population gene bank’ by ecologists. The Shitai Guniujiang Scenic Area has four main scenic areas under its jurisdiction, namely the Longmen Scenic Area, Shuanglonggu Scenic Area, Lingshan Scenic Area, and Main Peak Scenic Area. Among them, the Longmen Scenic Area is a mountainous tourist attraction that combines canyons, ancient villages, and original rural scenery. The Huizhou-style ancient villages in the territory have a long history. The alpine canyons are magnificent and beautiful. The rural scenery is beautiful. The colors of rivers and deep pools are clear and green. The natural original ecology has the reputation of a ‘small Jiuzhaigou’ in the south of the Yangtze River and is also a health and wellness holy land with high ‘negative oxygen ions’.
