Nestled deep within the mountains of Wuyuan, Changxi Village is the origin of Wuyuan’s high mountain tea. In spring, visitors can savor the spring tea and enjoy the pleasure of picking tea leaves with their own hands.
As autumn deepens, the towering red maple trees blend with the white walls and black tile eaves, creating a unique red maple forest landscape that attracts countless photography enthusiasts to capture the essence of autumn.
Changxi Village is a very remote village with sparse population, and most tourists choose to travel there by chartered vehicle. Due to inconvenient transportation, the village still retains its simple and natural atmosphere, and the Hui-style architecture is well-preserved. Most people choose to visit from mid-November to early December, when more than two hundred maple trees surrounding the village, growing in clusters for hundreds of years, turn a fiery red. Standing on the hillside behind the village, one can capture the sunrise and sunset of Changxi Village against the backlight, with the surrounding red maples and grey-white Hui-style buildings providing a stunning backdrop.
