Huotong Town is located in the northwest of Jiaocheng District, Ningde City, Fujian Province. It is 47.7 kilometers away from the downtown area of Ningde. It governs one neighborhood committee and 24 administrative villages. Huotong Creek runs through the whole territory. Since ancient times, it has been an important transportation route for timber and moso bamboo in Pingnan and Zhouning counties. Zhiti Mountain Huayan Temple, a key national Buddhist temple, is located here.
