Meihuashan is located on the southern edge of Nanjing Zhongshan Scenic Area. The plum blossom area on the top of the mountain is large and there are a large number of them, hence the name. Meihuashan is affiliated to the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum scenic area and is close to Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum. There are also historical sites such as the tomb site of Sun Quan and Guanmeixuan on the mountain for people to pay respects and enjoy.
The plum blossom varieties are rich. The tradition of planting plum blossoms on Meihuashan has a history of more than a thousand years. Now there are more than 30,000 plum blossoms on the mountain. From early March to mid-March every year is the blooming season of Nanjing plum blossoms (slightly changes every year). Plum blossoms of different colors and varieties such as white, pink, and red cover the entire mountain. Layers upon layers form a sea of flowers. Whether viewed from a distance or up close, it is all beautiful scenery. Photographers often stay here for a whole day. The plum blossom varieties here are also very rich. Among the more than 300 plum blossom varieties discovered and cultivated in the world, there are more than 200 here. Many of the precious species are treasures among plum blossoms. The relatively precious one is called ‘Biejiaowanshui’. The flowers are strong, fragrant, and bright, with up to 45 petals. It is the ‘treasure of the mountain’ of Meihuashan. Friends who want to see its true appearance can look for it.Guanmeixuan is at a corner on the south side of Meihuashan. It is the tomb of Sun Quan. Now there is a stone statue of Sun Quan and a stone tablet recording Sun Quan’s tomb. People can go and watch it. The pavilion on the top of the mountain, ‘Guanmeixuan’, was originally the tomb of Wang Jingwei. After being destroyed, later generations built a pavilion on the original site and named it ‘Fangheting’. The terrain here is very high and it is very suitable for viewing plum blossoms. So now it is called ‘Guanmeixuan’.

In the eastern area of Guanmeixuan is the ‘Jiangsu-Fukuoka Friendship Cherry Blossom Garden’. There are eight varieties and more than 4,000 cherry blossoms. The area is also very large.
