The Wang Youjun Temple is a memorial hall dedicated to Wang Xizhi, who was known as Wang Youjun due to his position as the Right General and the Interior History of Kuaiji. Surrounded by lotus ponds on all sides, the temple was constructed during the Kangxi era and boasts a serene environment. Upon entering, one is greeted by a mountain view. Inside the temple, there is a pond called the Ink Pond, with a pavilion named Mohua Pavilion in the middle. Adjacent to the pavilion is a bridge, and the temple is encircled by corridors. The entire architectural layout, integrating mountains, water, corridors, bridges, and pavilions, is a unique and thoughtful design.
Inside the temple, there are numerous stone carvings, with a portrait of Wang Xizhi hanging in the center. The couplets on either side read, ‘Throughout life, he lived amidst mountains and waters; sitting in a row, speaking freely without the distinction of ancient or modern.’ The temple’s opening hours are included within the Lanting Scenic Area, and the specific times for the internal attractions can be found on the public notice boards within the area.Wang Youjun Temple
