Tugu Temple, a place frequently mentioned by Lu Xun in his writings about Ah Q, is located at the head of Tazhi Bridge, diagonally opposite to Changqing Temple. Situated facing west, the temple is bordered by Dongxianhuan River to the north and Mushen Temple to the south. It is not a large-scale temple, consisting of only one storefront, where the statues of the Earth God and Earth Goddess are enshrined. Before the liberation, the temple was quite desolate except for the incense on the birthday of the Earth God on the 14th day of the fourth lunar month. The temple is open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday, from 08:30 to 17:30; it is closed all day on Mondays, with specific business hours subject to the temple’s daily opening status.
