Yandang Mountain National Forest Park – Yanhu Scenic Area: Luodai Waterfall

Located in the Yanhu Scenic Area, to the right at the base of the Stone Pillar Gate. Walking north from Meiyu Pond for 5 minutes along the mountain path, you will encounter a fork in the road. The path on the right leads to Yanhu, while the path on the left leads to Luodai Waterfall. On this journey, you will see large boulders scattered haphazardly in the roadside ravines, creating an imposing atmosphere. After passing through the naturally formed rock gate under Mingyang Cave, you must climb over the boulders in the ravine to reach Luodai Waterfall. The waterfall stands approximately 30 meters high and changes its shape with the seasons. When the water flow is low, it splits into two streams, smaller on the left and larger on the right; when the water flow is high, it merges into one. Observing the waterfall cascading down the cliff, it resembles a white silk ribbon emerging from a loom. On the side of the rock in front of the waterfall, there are three large characters ‘Luobu Waterfall’ and an inscription by Zhu Jingyu. Naming the waterfall ‘Luobu’ is both fitting and elegant. Due to its location in a deep valley blocked by large boulders, it was difficult to be known until it was discovered by Pan Yaoting and others in 1935. The park is open all year round from 07:00 to 17:00.
