Yunfeng Mountain, also known as Wenfeng Mountain and colloquially referred to as Bijia Mountain, is a national key cultural relics protection unit located 7.5 kilometers south of Laizhou, Yantai. Characterized by its rugged rocks, towering peaks, secluded valleys, and lush forests, the scenery is picturesque. Yunfeng Mountain stands at an elevation of 305 meters, with 37 inscriptions from various dynasties distributed from the base to the summit.
The Yunfeng Hall, nestled in the mountains, was constructed in 1984 and houses the Yunfeng Mountain Management Office, Zheng Daozhao Memorial Hall, a rest area, and a shopping venue. The renowned Northern Wei Dynasty official and calligrapher Zheng Daozhao left behind 17 precious inscriptions in 511 AD, all carved on the steep cliffs within the mountain. Zheng Daozhao’s calligraphy is invaluable for studying the evolution of Chinese characters from clerical script to regular script. Other prominent inscriptions on the mountain include ‘Zheng Wengong Xia Bei’, ‘Lun Jing Shu Shi’, and ‘Guan Hai Tong Shi’. In 1998, the State Council designated the area as a key cultural relics protection unit. The scenic area is open all year round from 09:00 to 16:30, with specific business hours subject to daily opening conditions.Yunfeng Mountain Scenic Area
