Tongliao Reservoir is located upstream of Zhixi Dongshan Village in Duqiao Town, Linhai City, approximately 6km from Duqiao Town and about 65km from the city center of Linhai. The catchment area above the dam site is about 17.8 square kilometers, and the total storage capacity is approximately 13.61 million cubic meters. It is a medium-sized reservoir primarily designed for irrigation, with additional functions such as flood control, waterlogging management, and water supply. The main structures of the reservoir’s hub project include a loess core wall dam, a side channel spillway, a water conveyance tunnel, and a dam-behind hydropower station. The reservoir is open to the public all year round, with full-day access.
