Plum Blossom Stakes is located in Yandang Mountain, Yueqing County. There stands a purple-black slab stone about 3 meters high, slanting and standing alone, which is both curved and peculiar. There are small holes of varying sizes between the stones, and the shape resembles the root of a thousand-year-old plum tree, exquisite and full of vitality. Behind the stake, there is a poem stele inscribed by Zhang Shumei on the rock, which says: “The old plum endures the cold with a heart as hard as stone, when did this stone transform into a plum? It seems to fear that the hidden fragrance would disturb the hermit, coming silently to the sea and mountains.” The poem is implicit and thought-provoking.
