The Xishiliang Cave is located in the Yanhu Scenic Area. It is 1 kilometer west of Hanzhong Peak. Ascending along the stone steps from the foothills, one can see a cave hanging high to the south. In front of the cave, there is a large stone beam with purple and white stripes and a texture like a plantain tree leaning against the entrance of the cave. There are left and right caves inside, which are spacious and refreshing. The right cave is about 20 meters wide, about 30 meters high, and about 10 meters deep. Inside, there are five wooden-structured buildings of Qing Dynasty architecture. The left cave is small at the top and large at the bottom, in a conical shape. There used to be a flying spring sprinkling from the top. The ground is uneven, and there are inclined rock walls blocking the way. It can be viewed but is difficult to enter. In ancient times, there were many plantain trees around the cave, so it was also called Plantain Cave or Jiaolin Cave. The first four sentences of the poem “Plantain Cave” by Qing Dynasty poet Lin Wenlang read: “Surrounded by plantains in clusters of green, the entrance of the cave is like a fairyland with dripping springs. The color is like pearls and also like jade. The sound is suitable for rain and also for wind.”
Open all year round, open all day.
