Muxiao Temple was constructed during the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty, funded by the local philanthropist Zhao Wenshao. It is named after the Muxiao Spring that it is adjacent to, hence the name ‘Muxiao Temple’.
Nestled among towering ancient trees, the temple is built along the mountainside, with its halls and pavilions featuring upturned eaves and corners, making it quite beautiful.
