Maozhu Garden Ancient Village is located in Shiyang Town, at the southern end of Taishun, bordering Fujian province, and is a kinship village inhabited by the Xie family. The progenitor of the Xie family in Maozhu Garden, Xie Bixin, originally resided in Ni Street, Fuzhou, Fujian. He founded Maozhu Garden in the second year of the Yuan Dynasty’s Yuanzhen era (1296), marking a history of over seven hundred years.
The Xie family of Maozhu Garden once enjoyed a period of splendor, with their grand residences well-known far and wide. However, many of these residences were later burned down by the Lu family of Fuding, who had a long-standing feud with them, under the guise of a ‘self-defense guerrilla squad’. Despite the fire disaster, the overall layout of the village remains intact, with some residential buildings and all public structures remaining unharmed. The village is open all year round, with full-day access. Specific opening times are subject to the actual conditions on the day at the scenic spot.Maozhu Garden Ancient Village
