Jinxiang Wei City, constructed under the supervision of Xin Guogong Tang He in the 20th year of the Hongwu era (1387 AD), has a history of over 600 years. The city, covering an area of 3.5 square kilometers, is laid out according to the Bagua Qiankun pattern, with Lion Hill and Ball Hill as its commanding heights.
The circumference of the city wall is 5 kilometers, and it is surrounded by a moat ranging from 10 to 60 meters wide on all sides, making it easy to defend and difficult to attack. The preservation of the moat in such a good condition is rare among existing ancient cities in China.
At that time, Jinxiang Wei had 97 officials, including Commandant, Deputy Commandant, and other ranks, with 4,928 flag soldiers and 15 warships within the city.
