Jingtu Temple is located in Pingyang County, Wenzhou City, originally known as Mingshan Temple. The temple was first established in the second year of the Tian Sheng reign during the Northern Song Dynasty under Emperor Renzong, and was subsequently renovated during the reigns of Emperors Kangxi and Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty.
During the Song Dynasty, Lin Pi once left behind the beautiful verse ‘Apricot blossoms dance along the path amidst a shower of red rain, wheat waves rise to the sky, shaking the emerald mist.’ In search of the small temple under ten miles of clear breeze, one finds a swift boat like a horse and water as vast as the sky. Prominent figures such as Chen Fuliang from the Southern Song Dynasty’s Yongjia School, the great Yuan Dynasty poet Chen Gao, the Ming Dynasty poet He Bai, and the Qing Dynasty official Xu Shu from southern Zhejiang, have also left behind beautiful poems about their visits to Mingshan Temple.Jingtu Temple in Shunxi
