Dongdong Cave

Dongdong Cave is situated along the rocky banks of the Nanyan Stream. The cave mouth, facing south, resembles a round arch with the two large characters ‘Dongdong’ inscribed on the left wall. Standing at the entrance, one can feel the cool breeze emerging from the cave, which is particularly refreshing during the summer months.

Upon exiting the cave, one encounters a 8-meter diameter opening facing the sky. The cave walls are sheer and rise to a height of over 20 meters. Above the northeastern cave wall, there is a towering pillar-like Huabiaofeng, standing at more than 40 meters high. Below it, a stone beam spans across the sky, forming a semi-circular gate with the inscription ‘East Heaven’s Gate’. Passing through this gate leads to the Huiwen Academy.
