Tongsha Reservoir is located 8 kilometers southeast of Dongguan city center, in the middle reaches of Huangsha River, a tributary of Hanxi River. It was named after being situated in Tongsha Village, southeast of Guancheng. The reservoir was completed in 1960, with a catchment area of 100 square kilometers and a total storage capacity of 65.2 million cubic meters. Surrounded by peaks such as Huanggong Mountain and Hu Xing Mountain, the reservoir covers an area of 9800 acres, with lush greenery, a tranquil lake surface mirroring the surroundings, and a continuous series of beautiful bays. The small island in the middle of the lake offers a captivating view, reminiscent of an idyllic paradise. Additional recreational facilities include water scooters, water parachutes, barbecue areas, horse racing tracks, and go-kart tracks, making it an ideal destination for travel and vacation. The reservoir is open all year round from 06:30 to 18:30.
