Shekou Port is located on the east bank of the Pearl River Estuary and at the southern tip of the Nantou Peninsula in the west of Shenzhen. It is one of the first-class ports in China that was constructed, managed and operated by enterprises with self-raised funds after China’s reform and opening up. The port started construction in August 1979 and was approved to open to the outside world in September 1981.
There are 14 high-speed passenger ships shuttling between Shekou and Hong Kong and Macao on the passenger shipping route of Shekou Port area every day. Among them, there are 13 round trips and 26 voyages to and from Hong Kong, and 1 round trip and 2 voyages to and from Macao. On August 15, 1999, the night voyage from Shekou Passenger Terminal to Hong Kong was officially opened, extending the opening hours of the port and providing more convenient services for tourists and foreign businessmen from both places. After passing through customs, passengers heading to Hong Kong can reach China Hong Kong City in Kowloon, Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal, Tuen Mun and Hong Kong International Airport by ship. Passengers heading to Macao can arrive at Macao Yuetong Wharf and New Hong Kong Macao Ferry Terminal by ship. Opening hours: open all day throughout the year.Shekou Port
