The building at No. 54 Shamian Street, located at the northeast corner where Shamian Street intersects with Shamian Fourth Street, was once the premises of the HSBC Bank. This architectural masterpiece features Baroque-style turrets and Roman Doric double columns, both of which are quintessential elements of classical architecture. The building stands at four stories high, with the outer wall of the second floor extending to the third floor with continuous columns. On the southwest corner of the rooftop, there is a pavilion with a dome. The facade of the fourth floor accentuates the turret at the southwest corner of the roof. The turret is topped with a hemispherical dome resting on a cylindrical drum, and a flagpole stands atop the curved roof. The building is open all year round and accessible 24 hours a day.
