The memorial is located at the intersection of Yanjiang Road and Liu’er San Road, on the east side of Shamian. The Sha Ji Massacre occurred on June 23, 1925, when the French military fired upon and killed Chinese civilians. In 1926, the Guangdong Revolutionary Government at that time erected a stone tablet inscribed with ‘Remember this day’ on the east side of the People’s Bridge, by the Pearl River. The current memorial, built in 2001, is a reconstruction of the original memorial built in 1926. The opening hours and business status are subject to the actual opening conditions on the day.
