Hongyuan Temple

Hongyuan Temple, formerly known as Wushi Temple. It was built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. It is located within the Bao’an Shiyan Lake Hot Spring Resort. After several wars and despite many restorations, it was eventually damaged and only ruins remained. The entire Hongyuan Temple is built on the mountain. It is shaded by green trees and is quiet and elegant. There are three main halls and six bell towers in total. There is one on each side of each main hall, arranged symmetrically. The three main halls are distributed front to back, from low to high, following the mountain. The first main hall facing is ‘Everyone is Happy’. The latter two are ‘Heavenly King Hall’ and ‘Mahavira Hall’ respectively. Chinese Buddhist culture is integrated with these architectural structures and forms. The surrounding bell towers, guest halls and relevant inscriptions are majestic and solemn. Incense smoke curls up in the large incense burner in front of the main hall.

Opening hours: Open all year round from 7:00 to 18:00.
