The Naval Battle Museum is located near Weiyuan Fort at the Humen estuary. It is a museum that combines thematic and site features. Covering an area of 204,000 square meters and with a construction area of approximately 10,000 square meters, it consists of a display building, an oath-taking square, a long seawall for viewing the sea and other architectural commemorative groups. The ‘Naval Battle Display of the Opium War’ and the ‘Humen Naval Battle’ diorama are the basic exhibitions of the museum.

The Naval Battle Museum is an important part of the patriotic education base of Humen Fortress and also one of the three major drug control education bases in the country. The ‘Naval Battle Display of the Opium War’ vividly shows the contrast between Chinese and British military forces during the Opium War and the story of the Chinese army bravely fighting against British invaders. The ‘Humen Naval Battle’ diorama, with realistic paintings, lifelike ground shaping, and clever combination with modern sound and light, vividly reproduces the tragic scene of the Humen Naval Battle on February 26, 1841.

Opening hours: Open all year round from Monday, Wednesday to Sunday from 08:30 to 17:30. The display building is closed on Tuesdays (except for national statutory holidays), and other areas are open as usual.
