Gao Bai Zhang has been one of the eight scenic spots of Hua County since ancient times, known as ‘Bai Zhang Qing Luan’, famous for its peculiar rocks and strange boulders. The massive rocks of Gao Bai Zhang, facing southeast, bear the inscription ‘Bai Zhang Qing Luan’, carved by a monk over 160 years ago, which remains clear and vigorous to this day.
This area also boasts many famous peculiar rocks, such as ‘Leigong Pishi’, ‘Liao Ge Ji’, ‘Shi Guai Cang’, ‘Zuiweng Stone’, etc., all named for their resemblance to something. The area is lush with forests and springs that never dry up, forming multiple small waterfalls, creating a unique scenery.
The Gao Bai Zhang Scenic Area in Titmian Town has become a great place to appreciate the sky since the construction of the new airport. Planes take off and land almost every hour, offering a unique viewing experience from the mountain. The scenery here is also remarkable. Gao Bai Zhang is divided into two major attractions: Pangu Yanxia and Bai Zhang Qing Luan. The northern foot belongs to the Pangu Yanxia scenic spot, rich in cultural relics; the summit is the Bai Zhang Qing Luan scenic area, where the monk Dezhi inscribed ‘Bai Zhang Qing Luan’ on a large rock during the Qing Daoguang period, which is still faintly visible. Along the way, the rugged rocks and stone scenery are enticing.
