The history of Dajiangpu Village dates back to the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties, when the Kuang family migrated from Datan Village to establish this settlement. Upon entering the village, one can observe that all the buildings face north to south, predominantly constructed with bricks, wood, and stone. In front of the village, five ancestral halls overlook a crescent-shaped pond, connected to the residential buildings behind. The village layout, consisting of ancestral halls, residences, and study rooms, forms a chessboard pattern. Each of the five ancestral halls features a wok-ear-shaped gable wall, with three sections and three rooms. Among the village’s cultural landscapes are inscriptions of the village name ‘Dajiangpu’ handwritten by the late Qing dynasty top scholar Lin Shaotang, engraved on the plaque at the village entrance; and the courtyard-style architecture combining Chinese and Western features known as ‘Spring Flowers and Autumn Moon Mountain House,’ with the ‘Xuancheng Genealogy’ passed down through generations. Strolling through the village evokes a sense of nostalgia. In front of the village, the five ancestral halls face the crescent-shaped pond, with residential buildings connected behind, forming a chessboard layout with ancestral halls, residences, and study rooms. The five ancestral halls, each with a wok-ear-shaped gable wall and three sections and three rooms, are named Nengyuan Ancestral Hall (Dun’ai Hall), Wuyu Ancestral Hall (Dunben Hall), Huaishan Ancestral Hall, Leqiu Ancestral Hall, and Ju Xian Ancestral Hall. Nengyuan Ancestral Hall is located at the upper part of the village, and Wuyu Ancestral Hall at the lower part, both with a long history, commemorating the two ancestors who founded Dajiangpu Village.
