The predecessor of Baihua Ancient Temple is Lianhua Academy. It was built in Nanshanxiang (Nanyue Mountain) in the eleventh year of Emperor Ming of the Eastern Han Dynasty (68 AD). It has a history of more than 1,900 years. Lianhua Academy is an early cultural and educational place in Zengcheng.
