It is a coastal defense military fortress for resisting Japanese pirates and preventing theft along the southeast coast of China in the Ming and Qing dynasties. It has a history of more than 600 years of resisting foreign aggression. At the same time, it is also one of the well-preserved Ming and Qing coastal defense fortresses in China.

To the north are historical elements such as Dapeng Fortress and Dongshan Temple, the ‘birthplace of Pengcheng’. To the south are natural landscapes such as Yangmeikeng and Luzui Mountain Villa.
